Choral Conducting Recital and Concert
November 9, 2021 @ 7:30 pm - 9:30 pm
Dear St. Timothy’s friends and family,
On Tuesday, November 9 at 7:30 PM, The ECU Collegiate Choir will be performing an exciting and dynamic concert of choral music right here at St. Timothy’s Episcopal Church. The Collegiate Choir is a unique and special ensemble, rehearsed and conducted entirely by Master’s-level students in the choral conducting program at East Carolina University such as myself. This concert, in addition to being a wonderful performance of live choral music by an excellent ensemble, will also serve as my own required graduate recital in the area of choral conducting.
It is my pleasure to invite you to attend this free concert. I would be delighted to see folks from St. Timothy’s in attendance! The choir and I have been working hard to prepare several great pieces of music. Under my direction, the choir will perform a beautiful anthem by English church composer Herbert Howells, a short a cappella piece by Austrian Romantic composer Anton Bruckner, and a “Messe Breve” (short mass) by French composer Charles Gounod. My conducting colleagues Shawn Kilpatrick and Noah Sigsworth will each conduct one piece as well. See you there!
