Our Programs: Christian Education

Children's and Youth Sunday School

All Sunday School classes start at 11:15am.

Classes for children ages 3 and up are held in the Kid's Room.

For children ages 3 through 5th grade, we offer a Sunday School curriculum called “Gather Round.” This curriculum offers a variety of ways to teach through story, crafts, games, and music. It also provides a component for parents, which can be used as a way for families to discuss the lessons with their children during the week at home. Classes are held in the Multipurpose Room.

For both junior and senior high school, classes will typically be held in the Multipurpose Building. The teachers and others involved are excited to work alongside of our youth as they plan a program which will offer a variety of ways to gather and learn from each other.

Episcopal Youth Community

EYC meets every Sunday night during the school year from 5:30–7:00pm, with dinner at 6:30. Youth in grades 6–12 are welcome to attend.

Meetings include discussions on religion and other topics, Bible studies, Youth Evenings with Rev. Mimi Lacy, movies, service opportunities, and outings, games, and team-building activities.

The youth participate in the Diocesan Youth Events including New Beginnings (7th grade and up), Fall Conference (Middle School), Winter Conference (High School), Youth Celebration (all ages), and Happenning (10th grade and up). We have an annual Youth Group Retreat at Trinity Center in the Fall. This year, we are also going on a Mission Trip to Raleigh/Durham.

Our service projects for 2008 include Project Linus, Canned Food Scavenger Hunt, and Souper Bowl.

Adult Forum

Adult Forum is offered at 11:15am in the Parish Hall.

This winter, we had a six-week program which covered a number of contemporary topics related to death and dying.

In the spring, we're offering a Confirmation-Inquirer's class for those who are interested in learning more about the bible, church history, the Episcopal worship service, and Christian living.
